The number of people who uses facebook is growing rapidly. Apart from adults, young children and teenagers also have a facebook account. Facebook is a good social network as it helps to reconnect people who have currently lost contact with their past friends or colleagues. For example, adults could find their primary school friends on facebook and keep in contact with them thereafter.

However, facebook poses some problems as well. Although facebook has a privacy policy, there is still a possibility that personal information that one puts on the site could still be leaked out to many others as many different individuals are linked together. Even if the profile is set to "private", another individual can view it once they add you as a friend. To protect oneself from an invasion of privacy, one should only add people whom they know as friends and not add strangers. If not, they would only be putting themselves in danger.
