Maintaining a Positive Mindset to lead a Long, Healthy Life

I strongly agree with the various points listed in this article.
Rather than bearing in mind the negative activities we should avoid, our focus should lie on the positive areas instead. Every individual thinking will affect our words and actions. Pressing onto the negative ideas seem to make a greater impact on people as they tend to remember them for a longer period. To quote a simple example: compliments are usually brushed off easily while criticism lasts.
If one wants to be happier, why brood on the unhappy events? Try switching ' Cannot do this, cannot do that' to 'Can do this, can do that'. This will make a great difference to our mindsets as situations are viewed positively. However, easy as it may sound, to adopt a postive mindset immediately may be a challenge. Effort and patience are required to do so.
The way we think affects the way we respond to our environmental influences. Of course, we can choose to see it either the 'good' or 'bad' way. 'The glass is half-full', 'The glass is half-empty', why the two statements? The meaning behind this theory is obvious. Half-full represents being positive whereas half-empty refers to being negative.
Therefore, in the face of any situation, optimism can be considered a lifelong benefit. A happy person is a healthy person emotionally and this also affects one's physical well-being. I suggest everyone to start thinking positively and look forward to a better tomorrow.
